In the desktop application, all data is processed locally on the parent's device. Nothing is processed in the cloud or by third parties. Helmit is fully available in German and English. Our message and content analysis is specifically optimized for these two languages. Other languages can still work, but we can't guarantee the same detection quality as in German or English. If your child mainly speaks another language, you can try Helmit during the free trial and see for yourself how well the detection works in your specific case.

Does the app work when the device is turned off?

For the app to detect dangers in real-time, the device must be turned on. However, all messages sent during downtime will be analyzed afterwards once the laptop is turned on again. Helmit runs unobtrusively in the background and can also start automatically in the background when the laptop boots up through the app settings. This means it's sufficient to open the app once a day.
